In an effort to make your fishing experience more enjoyable this year you may want to attend the Fly Casting Institute Clinic with Jason Borger as instructor – Jason will be using the “fly casting analyzer” which is a unique system that measures your casting stroke as you practice. The Clinic will be April 9th – 9-5:45.

Mark your calendar’s for Hamilton Montana’s Bluegrass Festival – July 23 -25 2010. This year we will have more musicians than ever before. -More than 220 bird species live or spend time in the Bitterroot watershed.
-The Bitterroot River flows north 85 miles from its headwaters to the Clark Fork River confluence – flooding annually and maintaining cottonwood forests that are terrific habitat for birds and other wildlife.
-The Lewis and Clark Expedition passed through here twice – in 1805 on the way to the Pacific and on the way home in 1806.
-The Bitterroot Salish lived in the Valley for many centuries until 1891 when forced to relocate to the Flathead Indian Reservation, north of Missoula.

Sam’s Spade Garden Tools & Wares in Hamilton, MT is opening the 2010 Garden Lecture Series with a presentation on “Native Species from Seed” on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2:30 in the Bitterroot Public Library Meeting Room.

The 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball will be February 20th from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight at the Bedford Building, Hamilton MT – Tickets are $25 per person. All proceeds benefit the Ravalli County Museum.
