WINTER HAS ARRIVED!
by your Innkeeper, Linda
Winter has arrived and in a big way – we’ve received about 16″ of snow in the yard (elv. 4,000 ft) within the past week and the cold weather is fore-casted until Jan. 1 – today we had sun for about an hour, no warmth just sun. The elk are coming down the hill and should be in the yard by Jan. 1, which is always exciting to see these very large animals up close and personal. All the winter sports, sledding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and winter picnics are in full swing, as I mentioned early Skalkaho Pass is being groomed for cross county skiers, so if that sounds like something you would be interesting in doing, call me.
We attended the last PAC performance, Turtle Island Quartet with there Solstice Celebration, which was a joyous voyage through the World’s Holiday music from Jewish, Hindu, old English carols, and Scottish reels, a great way to get in the festive mood. Our next guest are “The Greencards”, which are creating some of the finest Americana around, per the Rolling Stone. Sounds like this should be a great evening.
Hope to see you soon – Wishing all of you, a very Merry Christmas!
