SUMMER IN THE BITTERROOT VALLEY
The Bitterroot Valley is a bit cooler than usual, for this time of year – cool in the evenings and very pleasant 70’s-80’s during the day. Perfect for any activity you have planned.
Yesterday morning, our local, fawn entertained our breakfast guests by bounding in and out of the tall grass – we decided he/she was playing with an imaginary friend.
The Bitterroot River is somewhat back to summer levels, with reports of individuals catching more than 20 fish in a day are common with the size of the fish being caught averaging 12-14 inches in length, as reported by Bill Bean. Also, we’ve had guest that have been enjoying floating the river, reporting seeing several deer and a moose, what a great experience for people that live out of state to be able to see the beauty of Montana and the many things this State has to offer. Here on the property we’ve been hearing owls at night, can’t seem to locate them, but we will continue to look.
Lake Como is full and giving everyone an opportunity for great boating, hiking, fishing or just relaxing with a book - for most the water is to cool for swimming, but some do. You can always spot Lake Como enthusiasts, they either have great tans or sunburns.
